IOduino

NewsIOduino is a firmware for the Arduino which enables it's pins to be controlled remotely (over serial RS232). Analog/digital reads and writes are all possible. It comes bundled with a C++ library (IOduino.h) and a Python library (ioduino.py) which allows easy control from a computer running Linux. Interesting.

The protocol can be implemented in firmware on any microcontroller architecture as well as software on any computer software package (see list of client libraries below). Implementations for Arduino and Spark exists.
