FreeBSD and 3G / HSDPA cards

NetworkingIn case you want to run a 3G / HSDPA card on your FreeBSD machine, the article 3G/HSDPA cards supported by FreeBSD from shapeshifter.se will be useful. Also, you might need the patch from PR usb/118686, which was mentioned in FreeBSD and the Huawei E220 USB G3 Modem. There is also a u3g driver. For NetBSD, I guess this is already supported. See NetBSD PR 37692.

dmt and dmt-ux

NetworkingDMT (DSL Modem Tool) and dmt-ux are useful diagnostic tools if you have one of the supported devices. For dmt-ux (unix) that seems to be Thomson Speedtouch and compatible devices. DMT (windows only) supports a wider range of devices.
